Hey, I'm Selina! I’m a UX/UI designer who cares about how things feel to use. I like taking messy, complicated problems and slowly shaping them into something clear and simple. A lot of that comes from my background in art, I’ve always been drawn to details, composition, and the small touches that make something feel intentional. For me, good design isn’t just about how it looks, it’s about making things easier and more approachable.

‘Care Across Provinces’ explores how a guided tool within the B.C. Health website can help people moving to British Columbia transfer their prescriptions and their overall healthcare system.

Moving between provinces is already a lot to deal with, and figuring out healthcare on top of that makes it even harder. Information is scattered, steps aren’t clear, and there’s no real sense of what to do first. For people who rely on ongoing medication, that uncertainty can be stressful.

This project was inspired by my own experience moving from Alberta to British Columbia and trying to figure out how to transfer my healthcare system and medications. There wasn’t one place to go for answers, and I wasn’t sure what information I needed, how long it would take, or who to contact, and it just made things more overwhelming. The experience shaped the idea of creating something that could guide people through it in a clearer and more personalized way.

One of the biggest challenges was working within real constraints. Transfers can’t be fully automated, and every province does things differently. So instead of trying to “fix” the system, I focused on making it easier to understand and move through.

Adaptive Flow

Adjusts the experience based on user responses, tailoring questions and next steps to match each person’s timeline, medication needs, and situation

Medication Search by DIN or Name

Enter medication(s) details to receive guidance tailored to the user’s prescription

Personalized Checklist

Generates a clear, step-by-step plan based on user inputs, outlining what to do, when to do it, and who to contact to avoid gaps in care

What makes this project meaningful isn’t just the tool itself, but the experience behind it. Inspired by my own experiences, and shaped by mapping, testing, and iteration, it reflects what I value as a designer: clarity, empathy, and thoughtful design.

Healthcare systems aren’t simple, and they can’t always be redesigned, but they can be made easier to navigate. This project focuses on supporting people through the uncertainty, turning a confusing process into something more manageable and clear.
