Trailer:

“Long Way Home”, is a mixed media 2D-animation film about an office worker’s late night at the office turning into an adventure when her doppelganger pulls her into her computer screen.
The idea came to me in phases, starting with the climax and then fragments of the second act and eventually the opening and the rest of the plot.

Artist’s statement

Long Way Home is a classic “Alice-In-The-Wonderland”-like adventure animated short film about a burnt-out office worker, taking the long way home. This film utilises several traditional fine-arts mediums such as charcoal, watercolours and pen and ink. My animation concentration is geared towards traditional 2D and hand-drawn animation and I aimed to accomplish those interests with this film. My broader artistic practice is also geared towards traditional media, including painting and mixed-media collage work.

I favour designing areas of the animation pipeline, enjoying concept art, character designing, background designing, colouring, sound designing, and lighting in post-production. I aim to work independently as an illustrator and an entrepreneur in the future.
