Prasad | Woven in Belonging
Anniksha Guru Prasad

PROJECT OVERVIEW
A design system that reimagines
sari branding through packaging, storytelling, and regional documentation.
Prasad is a sari brand rooted in storytelling, craftsmanship, and belonging. To us, the sari is far more than a garment; it is a vessel of memory, inheritance, and shared experience across generations of women. Across India’s 28 states, the sari exists in countless forms, shaped by local histories, communities, and generations of weaving knowledge. Despite this diversity, it remains a unifying cultural thread, transcending geography and language, while preserving the distinct identities of each region it comes from.
Prasad exists to represent the emotional and cultural value of the sari. Through each piece, we aim to respect its origins while allowing the craft to evolve with time. As a sari and its wearer grow older together, the fabric becomes a living archive, collecting stories of craft, identity and care. The sari exists not only as tradition, but as a garment that connects maker and wearer, past and present, and the many lives it becomes part of.

BRAND IDENTITY
The brand identity is rooted in the idea of offering.
Prasad in Sanskrit refers to a devotional offering, often food that is consecrated and shared during worship. This philosophy defines our brand, positioning each sari as an object given and received with care.
The logo for Prasad is built around the numbers 6 and 9, referencing the two traditional lengths of a sari. These figures are interlocked into an emblem that serves as a metaphor for the sari itself; diverse in form, yet unified in structure.
The typographic system balances elegance with clarity. The primary typeface, The Seasons, carries a sense of heritage, while Montserrat supports with a clean, contemporary feel. Diploma Script Pro is used as an accent within titles, introducing a personal and crafted touch.

DELIVERABLES
Packaging Box
Thank You Card
The packaging explores four regions of India, representing one from the North, South, East and West. Each sari is incased in a laser-cut wooden box that features the motif of the sari inside as a cutout shape.
Inside, a thank you card includes an insert detailing the sari’s origins and craft. Together, these elements create an unboxing experience that emphasizes care and storytelling.

DELIVERABLES
Sari Catalog
The sari catalog is designed to be a coffee table book for the in-store experience. Customers can see the larger scope and regional diversity of our collection. A mapped index allows customers to navigate the sarees geographically and each page serves as a curated introduction to the sari.
