The Clown Tent

where play-fullness meets care and comfort

preciousness and fragility

An Invite Into the Clown Tent

Goodnight, Moon

Goodnight, moon was my first attempt at blending print and ceramics together. Originally starting from a sketch of an idea brought up with a friend it took a life of its own. From a set of prints to two maquettes and finally an over 2.5ft ceramic sculpture. It felt so important for me to bring this character into the 3D as they play such a crucial roll in my developing clown world.

Quitzia Gonzalez

Quitzia Gonzalez is a Interdisciplinary Artist, originally from Mexico but currently based on the the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ people. Their love for melancholy and clowns lead them to explore what comfort, closeness and preciousness can look like though clay and occasionally Print. They’ve found an interest in removing the preciousness presented in ceramics by exploring how people react to being part of the making process. They want to keep exploring the Clown Tent and bring people to see that world for themselves.
