FILM STILLS

Artist Statement:
After going to England for a semester on exchange, I reconnected with photography. Then my first semester back at Emily Carr, I learned about an alternate photo process called cyanotype. This inspired me to create a story that centred these two art forms in a subtle way, while staying true to the weird style of filmmaking I love. This film symbolizes how a photographer’s perspective, intentional or not, can change the reality of a moment. Street photography is an art form that is meant to capture those real human moments, but what that means is different to every person holding a camera.
