At Both Ends
Clayna Esteva Camacho & Sarah Velasco Vasconcelos

Synopsis
After a young candle girl is swept away by her imagination on a trip to the movies, she becomes consumed by inspiration. She begins to see her daydreams transform the world around her with colour and possibility. Determined to capture it all, she plunges into a relentless creative frenzy. But as her flame grows brighter, it begins to consume her. Her body melts, her space fills with chaos, and the joy that once fueled her work gives way to exhaustion. What happens when your greatest source of light begins to consume you?
Artist Statement
At Both Ends is a short film about the push and pull of making things. Creativity at its most exhilarating (and most exhausting) can feel expansive, consuming, and, at times, unsustainable. Through a blend of soft, grounded 3D and bold, vibrant 2D animation, the film moves between moments of imaginative intensity and quiet depletion. At its heart, this film is about care, especially the kind we receive from others when we can’t sustain ourselves, and a reminder that you can do anything you set your mind to, but not all at once.
