2D Animation Generalist, 2D Lighting Specialist

Jamie Nguyen

ARTIST STATEMENT:

Over the past year, I’ve work on a handful of films in various roles ranging from pre-production to post and enjoyed every step of the process of learning all there is, however, I find the most passion in animation lighting! My attention to detail, understanding of what reflects reality and confidence to push the boundaries is what makes me well sought out on multiple projects. Cel shading is what I enjoy doing the most to create a higher quality and depth to the visual development of animation, but more importantly, the emotional beats. Just a well thought out shadow or bright light placement can be enough to completely change the mood of a scene which is also reflected in my own personal work. I see emotion through light, it’s what helps me connect to a film, and my biggest goal in life is to do the same with my own work.
