Logline
Snapshots of several transgender historical figures, weaved together into a film about how trans people are mistreated.
Artist Statement
What is transgender history? How to we write the parts of the story that were lost to time? These are the questions I asked myself while creating enGender. There is no simple answer to these questions, which is why the film embraces the chaos in piecing together various transgender perspectives. Collaged together into a flowing, semi-narrative piece, enGender uses real historical events to challenge how transgender people are treated to this day.
