with time,
graphite on paper and lace fabric, 72 x 74″, 2026.
with time, (2026) examines the intimacy of the body to the act of markmaking, considering how the layering of memories in the mind can be represented through the medium of drawing. These two large-scale drawings investigate the consideration of time and labour through the dedicated use of graphite, yet a sense of care and delicacy in handling the material on fragile rolls of paper. The visual use of shadows act as an impermanent absence that still holds its own distinct presence against domestic imagery and physical fabric. Working with graphite adds a fluidity and temporality to creating the images, allowing for erasing, reworking, and revealing each distinct mark, smudge, or fingerprint of an artist’s movement and process.
The pair of drawings represent an inherent intimacy existing within the medium itself and relationship to myself as an artist. Existing as rolls with no definite end, they are an extension of my body and evoke a moment that is ongoing. Layering drawn imagery reflects the overlapping moments of personal memory and life experience that changes with time.
featured drawing work

tinted graphite on pillowcase, 19.5 x 28.5″, 2026.
I embrace the fragility of working on surfaces such as fabric, unsure of the archival quality the work will have as it fades and creases over time. Referencing photographs of myself as a child allows these memories to become tangible, connected back into the present. The treatment of the material requires extra care and attention. Sourcing a preexisting pillowcase from own home, drawing on, and ironing out the surface leads myself back into a tradition of domesticity. Naturally, this drawing will gain its wrinkles back and showcase the effect of time.
My practice favours softness, with a drawing style often described as delicate or dreamlike.
